Description
Chenresig represents the compassion of all buddhas, caring endlessly for all sentient beings with loving-kindness. He promised the Buddha to propagate Buddhism so was reincarnated. In addition, the Dalai Lamas are believed to be incarnations of Chenresig. Because this deity of compassion tamed Tibet, Tibetans to this day recite Chenresig’s well-known mantra, “OH MANI PADME HUM”
